Bus transportation is provided for all Kindergarten students who live more than a half-mile from school. Students in grades 1 through 5 must live more than one mile from school to be eligible for bus transportation.  Only eligible students are permitted to ride the bus. School buses are considered moving classrooms where all school rules apply.  Riding the bus is a privilege and not a right.  Students who do not follow the Student Bus Conduct Code may receive consequences and may lose their privilege to ride the bus.  If this happens, parents/guardians will be responsible for transporting the student to and from school.  We take this matter seriously and ask you to review the bus rules with your child.  Adherence to bus rules ensures the safety of all children while riding the bus. 

For a student to be dropped off at an alternative bus stop, parents must send in a written note, and there must be room available on the bus. Bus time and stop information for bus eligible students is sent to parents on a postcard from the Transportation Department prior to the start of the school year.  The transportation department can be contacted at 874-8240.
