Parents are encouraged to help their children understand that certain items are prohibited at school for safety reasons: firearms and weapons (including models or “pretend”), drugs, alcohol, tobacco, matches or lighters, firecrackers or other items determined to be a threat to the safety or security of the school. This includes knives in lunchboxes, jack knives, or any tool with a blade or sharp edge.
