School Cancellation, Delay, or Weather Related Remote Day
  • In the event of an emergency or weather-related school delay, cancellation, or early closing, announcements are made on local radio and television stations, including Channel 3, the school channel. Often, Portland Public Schools will put out a robo-call to notify parents.  

  • Please do not call the school office for this information, as telephone lines are very busy during these times. School delays or cancellations are announced by 6:00 AM. 

  • Early school closings may require announcements during the school day. Please keep your phone contact information and emergency contact phone numbers updated as needed for this purpose by giving updates to staff in the Main Office or through the online parent portal.

  • Please pay close attention to announcements.  Since we now can hold school remotely, the superintendent may call a remote learning day rather than cancel school.  If this occurs please check communication from your child’s teacher for directions.
